Welcome to Create07

The team behind the Desktop Create: Awards is pleased to welcome you onboard as a sponsor for Create07. Thanks to your support and encouragement, we are pleased to report that this year’s awards are now open.

As a Sponsor you are joining us in our third year for what again promises to be a celebration of Australian Design is all its forms, with this year’s theme being “A toast to the Australian Design ”.

The Official Create07 website is now online at www.createawards.com.au — please check it out and let us know what you think of this year’s identity! If you have any suggestions for the site, or indeed wish to update your identity or content, please let us know.

Additionally, the official announcement and call for entries (and of course your generous support) is featured in Desktop February 2007 issue as well as Australian Macworld February 2007 issue.

What’s in store in 2007

2007 sees the awards evolve to include an additional category. We have split the broad category of Design for Print Media into two separate categories due to overwhelming demand from entrants: Design for Print (Creative) and Design for Print (Commercial). Check out the website for more information.

The other key categories remain the same, namely Animation, Illustration, Photography, Website, Packaging Student and the all-important Jupiterimages Designer of the Year.

The team behind the Create07 has been spreading the word extensively since last year’s Awards ended, keeping the dialogue going with designers who have been involved with the Create Awards since its inception, as well as speaking with design firms that had not previously submitted to this exciting awards program.

Since the culmination of the 2006 Create: Awards we have been inundated with requests to submit work so we expect to have a difficult task ahead for the jury this year.

That has not stopped us from putting together an extensive marketing campaign that begins this month.
