The Show | Dead Can Dance | Pixies
No. 4: 20 July 2005
You are receiving this email because you either purchased a live recording from the Dead Can Dance 2005 European Tour or from The Pixies' tours in 2004 or 2005, or you've signed up for The Showlist, to receive news and notes about tours and products.
Ordering for the Dead Can Dance North American tour dates will be available right before the tour starts in mid-September. We'll mail a note to everyone on this list the minute the shows are available.
All of the individual show discs and the complete sets from Europe 2005 are on the way. Selections from Europe 2005 is a limited-edition, double-disc set containing tracks from the Spring tour, selected for inclusion by Brendan and Lisa and remixed and remastered by The Show. Selections from Europe 2005 is available for order and is shipping now. You'll find a complete track listing and other information at the site. Check out what customers are saying about the DCD Europe series here.
Oh let it rock
We've received the discs from the first half of The Pixies' tour and they start shipping, along with the tee shirts, today. They look
great and sound even better. The sold-out San Francisco shows are blaring through The Show HQ on autorepeat right now. Everyone who
ordered, no matter what or when, will also be receiving a special copy of The Pixies' special performance from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
in Cleveland, Ohio. We'll be posting pix of the discs on the weblog shortly. Our special
box set, "The Best 5 Shows" has been selected, and only a few (16) copies remain.
Find out more in the blog entry of 6/28, right below that, you'll also find a
sample song, Alec Eiffel, from the late show in Portland on May 27th.
Pixies Europe 05
Selected shows from the band's trip to Europe, that starts
in August, are now available for purchase at Pixiesdiscs.com.
And Another Thing
If you missed out on our exclusive tee shirt offer, you can still get one here and if you're
in Chicago for Lollapolooza this weekend, maybe you'd like to stop by and see us on Friday.
Last Time
In June's mail, we asked a trivia
question and promised prizes to three random
winners who could tell us the number of days
between the first Pixies and first Dead Can
Dance concerts of the 21st Century. Out of 400+ entries, a
couple dozen had it right. Our random winners are Lisa Shabel, Enrique Garcia, and
Rich Newmann. Each correctly figured out
there were 331 days between April 13, 2005
and March 10, 2005. Copies of DCD's
Selections From Europe and a Pixies Disc
from the 2005 North American Tour are on
their way to the winners.
This Time
Two winners will receive tickets to the Dunkin Donuts Newport Folk Festival on August 6th, the day The
Pixies headline with an acoustic set, PLUS BACKSTAGE VIP PASSES! It's
up to you to get there. The festival lineup is amazing and this promises to be one of the highlights of the year. Frank Black said, "I hope Pete Seeger doesn't go after the power supply with an
axe, for us going acoustic." Here's what you have to do: Call this phone number, 703 637 9276, and give us your name and email address and then sing a few bars from a Pixies song. Then
we'll pick out a few of the best ones and let everyone vote for the winners. But get busy, contest entries close next week. If you can't get to Rhode Island, sing for us anyhow. We'll give away six copies of
the disc set from that date too.
Thanks for paying attention,
The Crew from The Show
