| CALTEX HR BOOK |
|
Caltex Australia is an exciting place to work, offering excellent growth opportunities to existing and potential employees. The company wanted a vehicle that would communicate this message while reflecting the organisation's warm, down-to-earth culture. Our design solution was a neat booklet, with a predominantly black cover featuring an image of a simple chair and desk and the words "More than a place to work...". It opened up to a vibrant, energetic double-page spread of a matrix of images of Caltex people in a variety of environments, accompanied by the words "...a place to grow". Says Simon Willshire, Group Manager, Human Resources: "Businesswriters & Design helped us create an introductory booklet for prospective talent that showcases organisational life in Caltex. The advice we received on design layout and the flexibility around the production process were great. We ended up

| PMP NEWS |
| The brief was to design a bimonthly internal newsletter for employees of printing giant PMP, most of whom do not work at computers. Our design solution was to steer clear of the usual corporate A4 newsletter and create a tabloid publication that staff would find bright, engaging and easy to read. Cues for the design were taken from printers' proof sheets. Since the images supplied were not all professionally shot, we placed them in white frames resembling polaroid snaps. This allowed us to get away with using low quality images – and added to the friendly look and feel of the piece. |

| ZURICH: OUR COMMUNITY, ENVIRONMENT AND PEOPLE |
| Zurich's previous review of its community, environment and people activities was a double-sided, A4 flyer distributed to employees. Our brief was to produce a piece more akin to a sustainability report, that would help an internal audience understand how these activities fitted into the broader business strategy. It was imperative that the look and feel closely reflect the Zurich branding. With support from our writers who are experienced in sustainability reporting, we transformed a four-page brochure into a 20-page book that was well received by staff. |
