Leadership Summit Transforms Local Schools
Our in-school program, Leadership Summit, has concluded for this term. The ninth graders we have taught each week are excited about what they have been learning!
In the words of the students:
“In the beginning we thought it was going to be boring.
But as time went by it clicked in our mind that this Summit
is preparing us to be better leaders of tomorrow. It started digging deep within our dreams. We had to discover our destiny and what our mission is here on earth. The outside world began seeing us differently because we were working towards our destiny.”
“I love Summit because it teaches us about our purpose in life and helps us plan our future. They tell us what we need to know about life and the purpose of God. They have also taught me that confidence is one of the keys to success and I love them because they gave me the strength to speak up and to believe in myself. I hope that Leadership Summit will be very successful and help all the other schools and students. THANKS A THOUSAND TIMES.”
Teachers in the schools have pointed out that they see much improvement in the students we are working with. They have seen a decline in absenteeism and an improvement in behavior since the launch of our program.
The teachers in one school said:
“We are grateful for being exposed to this program of Leadership Summit. It has helped our youth very much.
We see a lot of change in the morals and attitude of our learners. There is also a change in their attitude towards Christianity. They now view Christianity as the foundation
of reaching their destiny.”

Purpose-Driven Pastors
The local pastors we partner with as we host mission teams have been gathering weekly with Pastor Niel and Alece for a small group study of Rick Warren’s book, The Purpose - Driven Life. It has been incredible to see the joy they experience as something new is revealed to them in each chapter. Partner churches in Michigan donated the books for us to launch this study with the pastors and then provide them with enough books to lead the study with their own leaders.
Each week, everyone enjoys the opportunity to fellowship together and share what they’ve been learning from the book. Pastor Niel then challenges the pastors to implement the new truths they are discovering. We look forward to seeing much fruit in the local churches as a result of this study! |

AIDS Awareness and Abstinence Curriculum
We are currently working on our AIDS awareness and abstinence curriculum for the next term which begins on August 15. Our emphasis will be SAVE for marriage, counteracting the world’s motto of “safe ”. We are excited about the buzz which will be created in the schools through the high-impact workbooks and the SAVE bracelets we will distribute.
We need to raise $10,000 for the printing of the workbooks and bracelets. If you would like to help transform this generation and reverse the AIDS epidemic in Africa by contributing towards this project, please let us know!

Seattle Comes to Africa
We hosted a team of interns from The Rock Church in Seattle, Washington during the first three weeks of June. Their focus was the same as all our mission teams: relationship evangelism.
They visited people in their homes and through helping with household chores, striking up conversations, and sharing about each other’s cultures, they’ve had the opportunity to share the life and love of Jesus with them. Laraine shares,
“Our group visited 6 different houses during ministry this past week. We invited all of them to church. On Sunday, four of the six families came to church, went forward for prayer, and said they had a great time and would come again!”
