Tuesday Creative partners with Comprador to host
Pacific Experience Exchange Meeting – March 2007

Fortune 1000 CEOs and CFOs and their spouses arrived at the Carneros Inn in Napa to enjoy two days and nights of local, artisanal products, to exchange ideas and to interact with one of the most influential people in business today, Carly Fiorina, former Chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard..

Tuesday’s role in producing hospitality and program items went smoothly. Upon entering their private cottages, guests encountered welcome packages tidily bound with colorful satin ribbons. Inside, they found custom embossed presentation envelopes filled with event agendas, golden spa certificates, wine tour information, and cocktail invitations. Each CEO/CFO received a navy blue micro fiber spa robe with Comprador’s golden lions stitched into the breast pocket; their spouses received a similar one in white. To top off the stack of goodies, all guests received a hardbound copy of Carly Fiorina’s book, “Tough Choices.” At the end of the meeting weekend, guests were presented with a custom made, leather bound book as a keepsake containing the membership pledge.

One guest proclaimed, "When I walked into my room, I thought Christmas had come early!" We hope this guest spoke for many.

Over the past month there have been a handful of exciting online focused events to partake in. Here is our feedback from some of the events we attended.

South by Southwest

The [three day] Interactive Festival is part of the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. To quote sxsw.com, "Is ground zero for the world's most creative web developers, designers, bloggers, wireless innovators and new media entrepreneurs."

In other words, a mammoth vortex of super geek energy takes over Austin, TX and you cannot help but catch Web 2.0 fever if you are in attendance. From panelist to attendees, everyone participating is extremely passionate about technology and where it is taking us.

Inspiration was everywhere, from the daytime panel sessions to the showcase events held in the evenings, you couldn’t move without hearing about, seeing, or experiencing an awesome new idea. It gave me a fresh perspective of the web and where it is today, and the possibilities of tomorrow.

OMMA

Not as exotic as a trip to Austin, but engaging none the less, the Online Media Marketing & Advertising Conference & Expo took place right here in Hollywood. It covered a full spectrum of online media related topics. Current issues relating to online marketing, advertising, technology and publishing industries were presented by a host of relevant speakers. Some topics of particular interest to us were issues relating to digital marketing, specifically the rise of B2B social media.

LA Flash

4 years ago, two enthusiastic Flash users, including Tuesday’s own Stephanie Warner, decided to create a community to discuss the intricacies of Flash, and to educate and mobilize other users of the technology. Thus the LA Flash user group was born. On March 27th, they hosted the Los Angeles launch party for Adobe Creative Suite 3 - the most groundbreaking digital creative toolset ever released, and the first release from Adobe after the acquisition of Macromedia. Check out http://laflash.org or contact Stephanie for more information!

Pure inspiration comes from life, the real deal. We like to experience multiple forms of creative expression to discover fresh inspiration. Here’s what’s caught our eye lately.

When "Digital" means "Fingers"

Get ready to toss out your mouse and keyboard. In the last 2 years, there have been some advances in touch screen technology (or at least certain applications of it) that will change the way we interact with computers, devices and each other.

Just by watching the Adobe and Microsoft demos on YouTube— from Apple iPhone's 2-point gesturing to JazzMutant's Lemur (multi-touch) Audio Controller— it appears that the technology of tomorrow is here today (or at least a few months off). Simpler implementations of this technology are already in use by Bank ATMs and meteorologists. There are, of course, both pros and cons to consider, but the possibilities presented by such technology stretch to the infinite: biometric fingerprint security, huge advancements for Braille readers, tactile OS themes, bringing interactive video into (quite literally) a new dimension... you get the idea.

Submitted by Ian:
Ian was inspired to write on this topic by the Adobe Multi Touch demo, which then sparked his interest in other possible applications. When he's not getting his multi-geek on, he's Art Directing at Tuesday Creative.

Some Assembly Required: Contemporary Prefabricated Houses

Currently on view at MOCA Pacific Design Center is an exhibition of contemporary pre-fab homes. Focusing on eight projects by different architects and designers, the show covers a variety of styles ranging from factory built homes to do-it-yourself kits. Driven by a desire to reintroduce the architect to residential living spaces and create affordable, design driven homes that fit their inhabitant’s lifestyle and taste, these designers incorporate innovative materials and methods. Some homes are built from modular units that can be custom assembled into various configurations, while other projects are entirely original.

Introducing Steven Rosenhaus

Steven Rosenhaus is an Associate Producer here at Tuesday Creative. In December he acquired a stressball that originally looked a lot like a miniature basketball. He was walking, talking, and squeezing around the office. Unfortunately in late January the stressball gave out.

Now is this the result of cheap manufacturing or does Steve really just need a vacation?
